In order to practice law enforcement in the State of Florida, you must possess certification issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. For information on these requirements, please visit:

Please be aware that your name and address for purposes of sending notification of upcoming Certified Police Officer recruitments will be maintained until the next recruitment, but for no more than a 2 year period. Should your mailing address change for any reason, please return to this section or visit our Employment Office located at 444 SW 2nd Avenue, Room 129 to complete a new notification card. Additionally, if you have taken the City of Miami's Police Officer examination, you will not be allowed to sit for the City of Miami's entrance examination for a minimum of 6 months. The subject line of the e-mail should automatically appear as "Certified Police Officer Notification Card". |
