Officer Rony Rodriguez, Badge #42511
12/27/2022

Officer Rodriguez responded to my accident.  His demeanor was professional and calming.  He remained at the scene until the tow truck arrived, when he gave me the report information.  He remained during the loading of my car onto the tow truck, so I took the opportunity to thank him again for his service.  He asked if the tow truck would be taking me home, stating that if not he was planning on taking me home.  I was surprised and thanked him for making sure I was safe.  He did not leave the scene until my car was on the truck and I was in the tow truck. I was impressed by his professionalism as well as his making sure I was safe.  I have dealt with the Miami Police Dept many times over the years, always with professionalism and wanted this time, to let Officer Rodriguez how much his actions meant to me that night. I will continue to write whenever I encounter the women and men of the Miami Police Dept.

Ofc Lakeatha Brown # 1997
12/19/2022

Officer Brown, Ms. Brown was very kind and helpful to my wife and myself.
Officer Brown is a 26 yr. veteran of the Miami PD.  We were lost and could not find our hotel near the airport.  She gave us detailed directions to the Extended Stay America Suites at 7750 NW 25th Street.  My GPS was working but it didn't know about road construction had closed an on ramp onto SR-836 and just ran us in circles.
I am a 78 yr old disabled Vietnam (US ARMY) Veteran and not familiar with the Miami area at all. I am also being treated for Bladder cancer at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Clinic 5 days a week in Downtown Miami. We were lost and came on Officer Brown by good fortune. Please give her the "Pat on the Back" deserving of a fine Officer and helpful servant of your Police Department. Sincerely,

-J.C.P.

Chief Manuel A. Morales
11/23/2022

My wife and I stayed at the Homewood Suites in Brickell for 10 days.  We would go out walking most evenings. We travel frequently but have never experienced the politeness of Miami drivers toward pedestrians, of all the cars that stopped only one did not, amazing.   Even when traffic was backed up around the city center mall, they would leave the cross walk clear.  Coming recently from the west coast where you take your life in your hands just to cross a street.  Excellent work Chief.  We also noticed how diligent other departments are working to keep the streets clean and free from graffiti.  Overall, we had a delightful and safe time.

-K.I.

Officer Brandon D. Manning

I would like to commend all the officers that responded to our call and the quick efforts in apprehending the thieves that had already driven away from our jobsite that they had broken into. The officers were quick in responding and canvassed the area for the vehicle that I had described during the initial call. I really thought that these criminals were going to get away. Good job guys!

Officer R. Saintfleur
10/25/2022

I reported a burglary where my bicycle was stolen from the building that I live in. Within the hour, Officer Saintfleur and his partner responded and allowed me to show them the location where my bike was stolen. Both officers examined the area and asked the appropriate questions to help them conduct their investigation. Additionally, both officers spoke with the management contact for my building to discuss surveillance camera footage, related incidents, and security protocols. Both gentlemen were super professional, knowledgeable, and kind. These gentlemen represent the City of Miami well and should be acknowledged for their professionalism, dedication, and empathy.

Numerous evening officers in the Coconut Grove and surrounding areas
09/18/2022

The rapid response and concern of each officer involved. All officers moved efficiently without flaw to assess and resolve the situation as quickly as possible. It was hard to keep my composure as my one-year-old screamed “Papa” from a locked car. Not a situation I ever want to be in again. I really appreciate all the first responders do daily. Once again you made another family. I pray all your days as an office, fire rescue, even the sole Public Service Aide ends with the satisfaction and joy you’ve given me tonight. Thank you for being the frontline as you leave your families to protect ours.
Sincerely,

Officer Flanders was extremely kind and understanding when I brought my concern to his attention. He listened attentively and answered all my questions kindly. Moreover, he assisted me in getting a police report for the criminal offense of Domestic Violence Stalking - after I had been unsuccessful at doing so for over a year, despite having multitudes of required evidence and documentation.
Officer Flanders followed the expected protocol and contacted the district attorney, to ensure the proper procedures were being taken, an action that I was unable to achieve with any other city of Miami Police over the course of a year! Officer Flounders made me feel seen, heard, understood, and protected during a very vulnerable and desperate moment.

I commend him for his actions and commitment to serve the community. I will be forever grateful for his commitment and assistance.

07/15/2022

I live in Missouri and received a phone notification that my son who lives in Brickell dialed 911. We could not reach him (he has a history of depression) so i called your station and requested a wellness check. Everyone from the first phone call to the actual officer making the check were amazing. My whole family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts. You showed compassion and professionalism in a very timely matter. It turns out he was asleep and had dialed 911 in error, but your kind and efficient response was able to help some very worried parents and siblings.

07/09/2022

On Saturday July 9th, 2022, at 4:30 AM at the Ivy residence. Two police officers from the North have saved my life on the 33rd floor when my roommate vanished our cat out the balcony when our cat was sleeping in his bathroom. Unfortunately, law enforcement officers never gave me a report card on that incident, so I do not know their names. I would like to officially commend them for saving my life! To the great Miami-Dade Police Department and Homicide Investigator Unit.

Ofc Charles W. Chester
06/30/2022

Officer Chester's exemplary communication, crisis and policing skills resulted in a difficult but accurate evaluation of my wife's mental distress and need for involuntary psychological evaluation at Jackson to supplement her ongoing treatment with her psychologist Harold Jordan, MD.
Officer Chester additionally followed up via telephone with me, during which I expressed my appreciation on his ability to determine the appropriate response to provide the best possible outcome for my wife and his further compassionate handling of our three pet Yorkshire Terrier family members (one of which was unfortunately deceased).
Although you most likely have many excellent law enforcement professionals, Officer Chester is a credit to your department and should be recognized and commended accordingly.

06/06/2022

I have called the police on Sunday because a man have hit me for no reason when I was walking in the street on Biscayne. An officer found the man after 10 minutes I ended the call and stopped the guy. (…)
I just wanted to thank the officer for the help, but I do not remember the name. Thank you anyway. If he needs to contact me, I have my number or email. Respectfully,

Officer Tyler J. Pearson
06/01/2022

This officer arrived on scene and immediately assisted me with a drunk individual who refused to leave the property. From answering my questioning and adhere to trespassing warning that I provided to the subject at the time, officer Pearson made it his duty to remove and made sure the person fully left the property. Officer Pearson then reassured me that if anything were to occur again to call back. After the subject left the scene, officer Pearson remained extra couple of minutes to assure the intoxicated individual did not return. Outstanding behavior by this officer and should be commended for an excellent job well done.

Det. Romi White, Ofc Jose Diaz and Ofc. Antonio Gomez
05/29/2022

My name is D. P.; I work transit security on the Metrorail. At 0529hrs these 3 officers responded to an agg. assault/ attempted rape of a woman at government center where I was stationed. The incident happened on county property which is out of their jurisdiction. These officers still stood by assisting the victim, nevertheless. On a daily basis I interact with LEO’s in a plethora of different incidents and time and time I’ll witness other officers write situations off because they don’t want the extra paperwork or a imaginary line stops them from doing the right thing and it is demoralizing to myself and coworkers. These officers deserve recognition and commendation they went above and beyond for this woman, and I am more grateful for that than you can imagine.

Ofc Jim K. Bravo
05/28/2022

My daughters and I traveled from Los Angeles to visit Miami for the first time. Since it was Memorial weekend, it felt chaotic. We were in Calle Ocho and were a little lost, we approached Officer Bravo to request help.
Office Bravo was very respectful, attentive, polite, and helpful. He understood our situation and directed us on what to do. He even explained where to park (or not to) to make sure our rental did not get towed, also, where, and how to stay safe. By the end of our conversation, it felt as if we were talking to a friend.
We appreciate the Miami Police Department and are very thankful to have met Officer Bravo.
On behalf of my daughters and I, thank you!

Officer Tyler J. Pearson
Ofc Carlos Nolasco
05/15/2022

To whom it may concern;
This is the first time I ever do this but I really believe that Officer Nolasco deserves it 100%. Yesterday I attended a 15’s at the above location along with some family members and my very active 2.5 years old son. After two hours wearing heels my feet could not take it anymore and I went outside to get the keys from the valet and be able to change shoes. My son was with me because he did not want to go with anyone else. Even though he was next to me by the time I had the keys he started running the parking lot. Soon enough I panicked and started chasing him thru the parking lot on heels. Officer Nolasco was at the receiving end and was able to safety hold him until I arrived. His kindness did not stop there. He offered to watch him a few minutes while I went to my car and change shoes. He also took pictures with my son and made him feel special and care for.
Beyond grateful for his kindness and help. I’m a single mom and sometimes it’s not an easy job. I hope this email or form reaches into the right hands and Officer Nolasco gets recognize for his amazing job.
Sincerely,

-A.A.

Ofc Orlando Merced
05/11/2022

As I was coming from a gas station not to far from the incident location, I realized that I had a flat tire and was pulling to the nearest location I could and saw Officer Merced parked near the area. I walked up to him and asked if he was able to assist me in changing my tire and he said he would come to give him a second. Now, I thought he forgot about me because he was taking a while, but just as he assured me, he pulled up behind my vehicle and aided me throughout the whole process. I have never seen an officer get down in his uniform to help a regular pedestrian change a tire. And I am glad that he was the one to help! He was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable with his assistance. This shows the over and beyond aspect of public service. Not everyone gets the opportunity to see these noble officers do things like this because not everyone gives officers the opportunity to show them that they too can inflict positivity in many situations. From one officer to another, I want to thank you, Officer Merced for the positive display of what brothers and sisters in BLUE should look like. I commend you for the hard work you put into the community you serve. You have a light that will brighten up the darkest parts of your job. you helped me before knowing who I was, an officer and a former wife of another officer and that shows how genuine the action was. So thank you again and God bless you.

I want to comment on my appreciation of Officer Rodriguez Badge 43475. He arrived quickly upon my call to handle a theft. Det Adrian Gonzalez & Officer Javier Pico
04/04/2022

Officer Pico and Officer Adrian Gonzalez are always very responsive when I send them a Watch Order on our home. I met them when there was an attempted break into my home on 7-31-2021. Both where in constant contact with me and some neighbors to ensure the perpetrators would not strike again. They even reached out to me last week to ask if a man in a van was supposed to be at my home, knowing I was not home. It was a new handyman in our company van that they did not recognize. To me, that is above and beyond expectations! It feels great to know they are just a call away. Thank you both so much.

Officer Eddy Dede
01/03/2022

On 12/17/21 Ofc. Dede conducted a routine traffic stop. During the stop he identified and arrested a fugitive named Rick Joseph. Our Agency, working with the Statewide Prosecutor, issued a warrant for Mr. Joseph's arrest 13 months ago. The charges included money laundering, insurance fraud, and identity theft. He was also wanted for VOP. He evaded arrest for 13 months prior to Ofc. Dede "looking beyond the traffic stop". DFS, and the victims in the case, want to thank Ofc. Dede for his efforts. I have no doubt by effecting the arrest he prevented other identity thefts from being committed. Thank you and stay safe.

10/16/2021

A neighbor hit my car while parked at my apartment complex and fled the scene. Officer Mesa came and helped me out with the report, talked me through every step of the process and answered all my questions. He also said he would follow up and come back the next day to talk to the person and he did. I was nervous about this whole process and having to fix my car. Officer Mesa being so responsive when I called the station, earlier today, and assuring me that he would pass by and that everything would be fine really helped keep me calm through this situation.

Officer Martha Alas
09/07/2021

I walked up to City Hall on the way back from a walk in Coconut Grove to try and file a complaint about a disturbing confrontation I had with a City of Miami contracted employee working on walkway paving at Kennedy Park. Officer Alas happened to be at the front door and immediately offered to help me out and attempt to direct me to the correct department. I know my issue may seem frivolous in comparison to the real problems police officers deal with on a daily basis... but you would not have known it by the understanding, engaged manner in which Officer Alas spoke to me. I rarely have occasion to interact with police officers, but today's interaction with Officer Alas made me truly feel like she cared about the community and myself as a member of it. Kudos to Officer Alas for her professional yet caring demeanor. It's the little things that sometimes show the true character of a person, officer, and therefore the force. Thank you Officer Alas!

Officer Jihovanna Mayorga-Garcia
07/03/2021

On July 3, 8, and 11th, Officer Mayorga-Garcia, on her own time, unpaid time, supported the first responders by providing them peer support, together with her K-9. At a meeting last night, where the peer support team was made up of Miami-Dade County volunteers, it was fulfilling to know that an officer from our city contributed her time selflessly as well. I've attached a pic of MDFR, and Officer Mayorga-Garcia is on the right-hand side with her dog Freckles.

Your interview was what the American people need to hear! Get the criminals off the streets of America. Your response to John Dickerson's questions show you are a leader who can make change happen. Common sense as you say is absent in Texas. Their gun law is reckless and will cost lives. I would never openly carry in public putting the Blue at risk. Common Sense!

Ofc. Khadijha Hardemon
05/15/2021

In this current climate of police relations, it was refreshing to experience interaction with an officer that was professional, respectful and patient. First; Officer Hardeman (Little Haiti District) had to wait for me to gain access to the security camera system for footage of a reported auto break in and theft. Upon arrival, I informed Officer Hardeman our security system was brand new and even I hadn’t been trained on its use. Her response and attitude of understanding was appreciated. She continued to show patience even though I was no help with passwords to get into the system. We were ultimately able to access the system so officers could see in real time what occurred. I’d also like to commend Officer Hardeman’s fellow officer for exhibiting the same qualities. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name before they departed.

I am the Program Director for the Residential Reentry Center located on NW 59th Street. As part of our requirements, I have to send yearly a letter in regards to the Prison Rape Elimination ACT. I will be contacting them in the future to hopefully attend our Quarterly Community Relations Board Meetings which identifies useful resources to our residents.

Officer Luis Loureiro
05/02/2021

Hello, my name is J.M. and I am a Sergeant with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office in Greensboro N.C. On Sunday (5/2/2021) officers from your department responded to a Death Investigation at my father's residence, where my father was the unexpected victim. Due to me living out of state, I could not respond to the residence at that time. I spoke to an Officer Loureiro on the phone and he was very polite and patient with me on the phone. I have not lived in Miami in many years and I did not know the resources in the area I needed to contact. Officer Loureiro assisted me with the necessary information to make the important phone calls.

I should also mention there were several co-workers of my father's who came to the scene and all of them have had nothing but good things to say about how your officers and EMS and how you all handled the call for service. My family and I can't say thank you enough for your departments help and their compassion.

Thank you again.
