Internal Investigations
The responsibility of the Internal Investigations Unit is to investigate all
complaints of police and City employee misconduct.
The Internal Affairs Division created a Complaint Committee to provide
a system of checks and balances as it relates to the classification of
cases that are assigned and investigated, versus cases that do not
require investigation. The Complaint Committee is comprised of both
Internal Affairs Unit lieutenants and a randomly selected lieutenant
from Patrol. Since the inception of the committee, 135 complaints
were screened for compliance. |
