Property Section is comprised
of the Fleet Management Unit and the
Property Unit. The Fleet Management
Unit manages the fleet of vehicles for
the Police Department. The Property
Unit is responsible for the custody
and disposal of physical evidence,
found property and all items being
held for safekeeping.
In 2008:
• The Fleet Management Unit
purchased, processed and issued 255
police vehicles.
• The Property Unit received,
packaged and processed 31,632
evidentiary and property items. Additionally they instituted software
modifications to the bar-coding system to facilitate better tracking
and control of the existing inventory.
• The Auto Pound Detail generated $31,882 from the towing and
impoundment of motor vehicles.
• A total of $205,180 US currency was confiscated, processed and
deposited into the general fund. |
