The City of Miami Police Department announces its intent to apply for $367,931.00 in funding through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program FY 2016 Local Solicitation. The Department of Justice requires that applicant agencies make their application available to the public, prior to submission, enabling citizens and neighborhood or community organizations an opportunity to comment on the agency's application to the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs.

- The purchase of sixty (60) workstations to be utilized in the Police 911 Communications Center, in our back-up communications center and inside our Emergency Operations Center all located in the Miami Police Headquarters building. ($92,400.00 plus $14,940.00 in warranties totaling $107,340.00)
- The purchase of 240 widescreen video-displays that will be incorporated with the sixty (60) workstations to provide 4 video displays per workstation. Each display provides separate CAD information including; call data, unit status, GIS map displays, and information queries on persons, vehicles, articles and other pertinent data. ($66,960.00)
- Upgrade and modernization of the Police Department’s Compstat meeting and conference room to include a video telecommunications wall that can simultaneously display data, maps, live CCTV feeds, video and local/national TV broadcasts on multiple screens. Command staff utilize the Compstat meeting/conference room to plan, propose and review crime reduction, problem solving and community policing initiatives. ($115,996.00)
- The procurement of sixty-three (63) desk-top computers and dual monitors to update computers throughout the department. ($77,634.90)
