PUBLIC RECORDS: CALLS-FOR-SERVICE

This dataset reflects incidents that have been reported to the Miami Police Department (MPD) since June 2017. Calls-for-service can be generated by 911 calls, by in-person reports at police headquarters and district substations, and by officers in the field.

Data is only as current as of the date and time on which the file was created. Call-for-service incidents/signals are based on preliminary information supplied to MPD by the reporting parties and may not reflect the actual nature of the incident. Preliminary code/signal classifications may change based on additional investigation, but typically do not change once 36 hours have passed since the call was initiated. IBR Codes can change based on the nature of the crime committed, which is sometimes not determined until an investigation is underway or complete. In short, crime data is dynamic, while these files are static, and should therefore not be considered current or real-time.

This information should not be used for comparison purposes over time. MPD will not be responsible for any error or omission, or for the use of, or for the results obtained from the use of this information.
