Operation Miami Shield is an anti-terrorism
program sponsored by the Miami Police
Department. This initiative utilizes existing
public/police partnerships to deter, dissuade, and
discourage terrorism. The combination of public
awareness and police visibility, coupled with
several avenues of reliable communication, is a
formula that the Miami Police Department has
employed in the past with great success in the
crime prevention arena. Operation Miami Shield
will now expand this existing partnership and
utilize those core strategies as a foundation for
this innovative program.
