The Information Technology Support Section is an element within the Administration Division. The Section is responsible for the development and maintenance of computer systems and the disbursement of police reports, crime statistics in response to requests from the public and city government, maps highlighting criminal activities in the City of Miami, as well as providing support to the Department's COMPSTAT program. The Section is also responsible for coordination of technical support of the 911 call center (Motorola 800 Mhz radio system, Positron and AVAYA telephone systems and the Motorola Premier CAD systems) Mobile Digital Computers (Motorola PMDC), Motorola Law Enforcement Records management Systems for the Miami Police Department. The Section is composed of the Computer Support Unit, COMPSTAT Support Unit and the Communications Technical Support Unit. |
