Thank you for visiting the Miami Police Department website. The City of Miami is known as the “Magic City” and our police department strives to be progressive in our approach to public safety, crime prevention, and service to the community. We hope that this website delivers you with a helpful way to learn about the services, resources, and information our agency provides.

The department’s personnel strength is approximately 1,300 sworn officers and 400 civilian employees making it the largest municipal police department in Florida. Our agency is a professional, value-based organization built upon the foundation of community partnerships. Our department is committed to providing exceptional public safety services and taking a leadership role in strengthening these partnerships through Relational Policing. Each encounter an officer has with an individual is an opportunity to engage, communicate openly, and build trust. Miami is rich in diversity and Relational Policing requires we ensure the safety and well-being of each person is addressed equitably. This is accomplished through transparency, respect, engagement with the community, accountability, and trust. We are committed to upholding ethical standards and adhering to the true meaning of the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.

Moving forward together requires your support. If a member of our organization may be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us. I also invite you to contact me through this website and share your thoughts. Together we will continue to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work, and visit our great city. I hope that you find the information here informative and useful. It is through your cooperation, by providing tips and staying vigilant, that we can better serve you. Your help and support are greatly appreciated and play a significant role in keeping our community safe.
